Sarah Huckabee Sanders Goes Off on CNN’s Retraction Scandal, ‘Constant B...

Sarah Huckabee Sanders filled in for Press Secretary Sean Spicer today, and she ripped on the media by speaking about how CNN’s recently retracted story is emblematic of the political press’ dishonesty.

Sanders began with a question from Breitbart’s Charlie Spiering, who asked if Donald Trump went on a tweetstorm against CNN this morning because the network’s retraction wasn’t good enough to satisfy the president.

Sanders responded that Trump is frustrated by the “constant barrage of fake news,” and she suggested that people should watch the new video from Project Veritas where a CNN producer objects to his network’s coverage of the Trump/Russia investigations: “There’s a video circulating now.

Whether it’s accurate or not, I don’t know, but I would encourage everybody in this room and frankly everybody across country to take a look at it. I think if it is accurate, I think it’s a disgrace to all of media, to all of journalism.

I think that we have gone to a place where if the media can’t be trusted to report the news, then that’s a dangerous place for America.” Spiering went on to ask Sanders if Trump seriously expects the media to refrain from reporting on the possibility that a foreign power messed with the presidential election.

Sanders responded that the media ought to focus on other parts of the Trump presidency, and she continued to berate the press for inaccurate reporting and basing their critical coverage on unnamed sources.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Slam FAKE News Operations & OWNS Emotional Reporter 6/27/17 During today’s White House press briefing — one of the rare recent ones to be on-camera — Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was immediately pressed on CNN’s retraction of a Russia probe story and the president’s “Fake News!”

Twitter rants on the subject. After she called CNN a disgrace to media and suggested that mainstream outlets were deliberately making up news, Brian Karem from The Sentinel Newspapers lit into her.

“You’re inflaming everyone right here right now with those words,” he exclaimed. “This administration has done that as well. Why in the name of heavens––any one of us are replaceable and any one of us, if we don’t get it right, the audience has the opportunity to turn the channel or not read us.”

Karen went on to point out that the president has been elected to serve four years and that reporters are there to ask questions while the White House press team is there to answer them before further lambasting Sanders for her comments:

“What you just did is inflammatory to people all over the country who look at it and say, see, once again, the president’s right and everybody else out here is fake media, and everybody in this room is only trying to do their job.”

After she said she disagreed “completely” with Karem, she quickly moved on to Fox News’ Kevin Corke, who asked her some questions about the Senate health care bill.
