DOJ Asks Supreme Court To Block Latest Travel Ban Ruling

On Friday, The U.S. Justice Department asked the Supreme Court to block a judge's ruling keeping Donald Trump's travel ban from being applied to grandparents of U.S. citizens and refugees already being processed by resettlement agencies.

The administration asked the justices to overturn the ruling. It has limited the scope of the administration's temporary ban on refugees and travelers from Muslim-majority countries.

The Supreme Court has previously said the ban could take effect. However, people with a "bona fide relationship" to a U.S. person or entity could not be barred.
