Americans Get These Things Wrong About Mexican Food

When Americans who aren't of Mexican heritage think of Mexican food, nachos and hard shell tacos are sometimes the first things that come to mind. But it'd probably surprise many Americans to know that those foods aren't good representations of the traditional dishes that really come from Mexico. Mexican food, when created properly and authentically, is a little different than some might think. Flour tortillas are often replaced with soft corn tortillas — not hard shell tacos. Also, real Mexican food isn't heavy or cheesy. Bugs, like dried grasshoppers, are also commonly eaten. Another big misconception Americans have about Mexican food is that it's always super spicy. There are around 64 different kinds of chili peppers used in traditional Mexican food, and they all vary in spice level from low, moderate, and extreme. https://ift.tt/2r6kLNY http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
