Uta Abe, Judo's Youngest Champion, Continues A Proud Family Tradition

Judo phenomoenon Uta Abe is the sport's youngest ever star, she's never been defeated outside of her native Japan, and she has her eyes set on gold for both the upcoming 2018 World Championships as well as the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Abe said in an interview with CNN, "I started judo at age five and from the very first day I fell in love with the sport. Something I always keep in mind is never to back down, but to always move forward and keep attacking." Judo runs in Abe's family, her uncle, Tadahiro Nomura, is the only judoka in history to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals. Her 20-year-old brother, Hifumi, is the reigning half-lightweight world champion and remains undefeated since 2015. https://ift.tt/2I2y3TJ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
