A Plan to Drag Icebergs From Antarctica to Cape Town Has Been Floated To Help With Drought

Cape Town is living through one of the worst droughts in its history. Marine experts have staked out a plan to solve the drought by dragging icebergs from the antarctic to the tip of Africa. The South African city has gone three years with hardly any rain. The city government has for the past few months urged citizens to cut their water consumption. Authorities claim the conservation methods are working but the country is still going through a water crisis. The experts plan to attach the icebergs to large ships and tow them to South Africa. There they would be chopped into a slurry and melted into drinking water for locals. Experts said they could provide 150 million litres of water every day for a year from a single iceberg. https://ift.tt/2HKm8cq http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
