Arizona Governor Is Hopeful Of Striking Deal With Teachers On Walkout's Fourth Day

Arizona’s governor said on Tuesday that he hopes to sign a budget deal raising teachers’ pay as early as Wednesday. The latest statewide teacher walkout in the country has kept most of Arizona’s 1.1 million students out of class for a fourth day. Governor Doug Ducey sent a letter to teachers saying, “We are very close to passing a significant budget investment into K-12 education.” The deal would increase teachers’ pay 20 percent by 2020 and provide an extra $371 million in school funding over five years. https://ift.tt/2HFc4pg http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
