California May Be Due For A Mega-Flood That Could Force 1.5 Million People To Evacuate

According to a report by Business Insider, a new book from LA's most famous seismologist, Lucy Jones, warns that the state faces a potential megaflood that would pummel inland California. Jones' book, "The Big Ones: How Natural Disasters Have Shaped Us (and What We Can Do about Them," takes a look at the history of the world's most devastating earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions, as well as potential disasters of the future. One scenario investigated by the US Geological Survey, referred to as an ARkStorm, involves a series of heavy rains in a short timespan in California that would overwhelm flood-control systems, force 1.5 million people to evacuate, inundate a quarter of the state's land, and cause 725 billion dollars worth of damage. https://ift.tt/2rgWiqc http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
