Democrats May Rally Around Bernie Sanders’ Wage Raising Plan

Vermon senator Bernie Sanders has introduced The Workplace Democracy Act, a bill that would strengthen US labor unions. Even though its unlikely to gain traction in the current Congress, the legislation signals a priority for Democrats going forward. Sanders' bill is already cosponsored by an array of Democratic lawmakers, including senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Kirsten Gillibrand. Sanders, a former Democratic presidential candidate, says the plan is designed to help workers in the middle class, boost wages and reduce income inequality. According to the jobs report for April this year, average hourly earnings grew only 2.6% year-over-year and remained below pre-recession levels. https://ift.tt/2I6EynQ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
