FAA Inspects More Southwest Engines After Accident

According to a report by Reuters, the US Federal Aviation Administration said on Tuesday that it has ordered inspections on fan blades in hundreds of additional engines similar to the one that failed in a deadly Southwest Airlines accident last month. The FAA said that the engine explosion on Southwest Airlines flight 1380 was caused by a fan blade that broke off. The FAA said an “unsafe condition exists that requires the immediate adoption” of the rule without a chance for public comment. In a notice posted in the Federal Register, the agency claimed that “the risk to the flying public justifies” the quick adoption of the rule. https://ift.tt/2HG6enj http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
