Hawaii Quakes Push Eruptions Of Kilauea Volcano

A series of fresh earthquakes on Friday hit Hawaii’s Big Island, where the Kilauea volcano has been spewing fountains of lava into residential areas and forcing hundreds to evacuate. The quakes included a couple capable of causing considerable damage, The U.S. Geological Survey said the latest tremor at 12:32 p.m. measured a magnitude of 5.8. The Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency said the quake was not large enough to cause a tsunami. But it was on land close to the volcano. The Defense Agency said in a text message, a new fissure opened up just before the latest tremor on Friday making a total of four found so far in residential areas. https://ift.tt/2JUb0dw http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
