How To Avoid Diseases Spread By Mosquitoes And Ticks

This week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report on diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas. The report is raising justified concern. The number of reported illnesses caused by these bugs in the U.S. have tripled from 2004 to 2016. But the rise of these diseases doesn't mean you should stay indoors this summer. The CDC offers tips on how best to protect yourself from both mosquito and tick bites. First, use insect repellent with at least 20 percent of one of the EPA-registered repellent ingredients. If you're spending time in wooded areas, wear long sleeves and pants if you can. When walking on trails if you stick to the center of the trail you're more likely to avoid ticks. As soon as you come inside do a full-body check and take a shower. https://ift.tt/2rhQEUH http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
