Investigators Reveal What Caused Window to Shatter on Fatal Southwest Airlines Flight

Southwest Airlines Flight 1380 suffered a catastrophic engine failure and cabin depressurization on April 17. The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed on Thursday what caused the window blowout. According to investigators, the window was puncture by pieces of the engine inlet cowling. The inlet and cowling exploded after a fan blade in the left engine snapped off. The punctured window cause the cabin of the plane to depressurize, nearly sucking passenger Jennifer Riordan out of the aircraft. Riordan was pulled back into the plane, but later died from her injuries. The exploding engine also cause heavy damage to the plane’s left wing and horizontal stabilizer. https://ift.tt/2rih09o http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
