Is Software At Fault for Fatal Collision of Uber Car in Tempe?

A new report indicates that Uber's autonomous software is likely to blame for a fatal collision in Tempe. According to The Information, a self-driving Uber vehicle's sensors noticed a pedestrian crossing a street before striking her, but the vehicle's software flagged the pedestrian as a false-positive. The 49-year-old woman was fatally struck by the Volvo XC90 because detection software did not lead the vehicle to brake or maneuver around her. After the collision in March, Uber suspended their self-driving program in Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Toronto, and San Francisco. https://ift.tt/2I65x30 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
