Judge Rules NRA Must Name Young Adult In Suit

US District Judge Mark Walker ruled on Sunday that the National Rifle Association cannot use an anonymous 19-year-old plaintiff in its lawsuit opposing Florida's new gun restrictions, which lawmakers passed in response to the Parkland school shooting that killed 17 people. The organization asked that the young adult be added to the suit using a pseudonym, but Judge Walker ruled that the 19-year-olds preference to remain anonymous did not outweigh the interest of keeping court matters public. The NRA originally filed the lawsuit in March, hours after Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed legislation that raised the age limit for buying rifles from 18 to 21 and extended a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases to include long guns. https://ift.tt/2Gd9uRN http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
