Myanmar Military Assures U.N. of 'Harsh' Action On Sexual Assault

On Tuesday, state media reported that Myanmar’s military has assured the United Nations of “harsh” action against perpetrators of sexual violence. U.N. and rights groups say nearly 700,000 Rohingya Muslims fled to Bangladesh after a military crackdown was launched in Rakhine State. Many of the arriving refugees recounted incidents of killings, arson and rape but Myanmar largely rejected those reports as well as the accusation of ethnic cleansing. The Myanmar government has denounced all of the accusations as "despicable acts." https://ift.tt/2I1Ew3N http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
