San Francisco Reeling From Drug Addicts Shooting Up And Fouling Public Streets

San Francisco's reputation as being a liberal, tolerant city may be backfiring. That's because the city is now plagued with people openly using illegal street drugs. Officials say it's common to see drug users openly shooting up in BART train stations. Also, medical and human waste foul the street, creating a public health risk. The city's Health Department says there are about 22,000 IV drug users in the city. That's about about 470 per square mile. Most use heroin and prescription opioids. However, officials say the use of methamphetamines is on the rise. https://ift.tt/2rraqwm http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
