Sleep, BMI and Marital Status Risk Factors For Dementia

Increased risk factors for dementia later in life include age, marital status, body mass index and how much sleep you get. With dementia being the leading cause of dependence and disability among seniors worldwide and because there's no effective medication or treatment for it, researchers hoped to identify life-related factors to reduce peoples' risk of the debilitating condition. Scientists at Boston University School of Medicine determined the traits strongly associated with dementia were increasing age, marital status of "widowed," a lower BMI and less sleep at mid-life. Researchers hope this information can assist primary care physicians in creating preventative strategies for patients. https://ift.tt/2KG6HUB http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
