Teachers In North Carolina Walk Out For Higher Pay

On Wednesday, thousands of North Carolina teachers marched on the state's Capitol calling for higher pay, better working conditions and more spending on education. The walk out makes North Carolina the sixth state in which teachers’ have publicly protested to bring attention to the state of education in the country. Due to the protests, at least 38 school districts, which represent more than half of North Carolina’s 1.5 million public school students, were closed Wednesday. The North Carolina Association of Educators is calling for teacher pay raised to at least the national average and have funding restored for public schools to pre-recession levels. https://ift.tt/2L8KzlW http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
