The FDA Accuses Major Drugmakers Of 'Gaming' The System

According to a report by Business Insider, the FDA is calling out drugmakers it claims are 'gaming' the system as a way of obstructing generic competition. The US Food and Drug Administration published a list on Thursday, of 52 drugs it deemed are facing delays to getting generic versions developed because of intentional delays made by big-name drugmakers. The agency said in the statement that the "FDA is committed - among other things - to addressing and improving transparency about this and other gaming tactics that delay the generic competition Congress intended." Last week, President Donald Trump laid out his plan to lower prescription drug prices. FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb claimed that one of the steps the agency would be taking as part of that plan would be to address some of the "gaming" that takes places around prescription drugs. https://ift.tt/2IqWrhh http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
