These Foods Besides Romaine Can Also Have E. Coli

You've probably heard about the U.S. government's current warning to avoid romaine lettuce, due to a link to a multistate E. coli outbreak. The warning applies to romaine grown in the Yuma, Arizona region and covers romaine lettuce in all forms. Raw vegetables and fruits are often a source for E. coli because the bacteria can't be washed off completely. The only way to kill the bacteria is by thoroughly cooking the produce. Raw vegetables aren't the only foods that can become contaminated though. Earlier this year, 7 tons of ground beef were recalled because of E. coli contamination. E. coli in beef is fairly common. Deli meats are another common source of the bacteria, since deli slicers aren't typically cleaned between each use. https://ift.tt/2HrxxSt http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
