Tick-Borne Illnesses Are On The Rise

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread by black-legged ticks, also known as deer ticks. Rates of diseases spread by ticks are rising rapidly in the US. More than 80% of reported tick-disease cases are Lyme disease infections. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are probably 300,000 Lyme disease cases every year, but the majority of them don't get reported. Common symptoms of Lyme disease include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic bulls-eye skin rash. If the disease is left untreated, the infection can spread to the joints, heart, and nervous system, causing more serious problems. https://ift.tt/2KuP61O http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
