Unhealthy Health Food


It can be frustrating trying to figure out if a so-called "health food" is truly healthy food. Even if you think you're making health-conscious choices, you may be surprised to see what has been secretly added to your meals. A great way to determine if a food is secretly unhealthy is by reading the labels. Many low-fat or reduced-fat foods have added sugar. Baked "junk food," such as potato chips often contain more salt than their non-baked counterparts. Because of loopholes in the definition of words, many foods we think represent health or cruelty-free, actually arent. Many foods marketed as whole grain may only contain grain in a fine flour form that our body processes as sugar. The USDA definition of "free range" simply means that chickens have access to the outside.
